Building on the knowledge management outputs, the outputs can support strategic planning with country partners, organize participation in the Mekong-ASEAN Environmental Week, facilitate a regional seed exchange for young Mekong farmers, and prepare the Sino–Thai Young Farmer Exchange in collaboration with a Chinese consultancy.

Thailand’s Partners Planning organized a hybrid meeting on 12 September 2025 among Thai partners from 27 groups to present key findings from KM and data mapping and to develop strategic collaboration within the Thai seed network. Thailand’s strategic plan outlines clear actions to strengthen its seed network—covering seed breeding, a genetic resource database, seed learning centers and libraries, public awareness, and regional knowledge exchange—which will inform future proposals for the Southeast Asian Seed Network (SEASN).

Myanmar partners participated in networking activities to prepare priority areas for their Strategic Planning. Meanwhile, collaboration has continued through activities such as young farmer participation in the Mekong-ASEAN Environmental Week, regional seed exchanges, and support for Myanmar partners to attend the Echo Asia Seed Conference to assess their seed-related needs for strategic planning.
Myanmar’s Partners Planning focused on seed movement, was scheduled for 28 November 2025 via zoom application. 12 Participants from Myanmar’s partner (Farmer and PGS Groups, Consumer Groups, Gaia Green, CBOs/CSOs) and 3 TOA team members. The planning for the next steps is conclueded as follows.
- Interview seed practitioners in Shan State or Kashin State in 2026. These practitioners include farmers and young farmers involved in seed keeping and seed saving, as well as network members and consumers. (Naw Aung)
- Build young farmers’ capacity through seed saving: Organize farmers in the surrounding community to share their experiences with seed saving. (Thaung Si)
- Seed-related events within networking or small communities.
- Local seed documentation to prepare the reinforcement of the seed network / update the network on the situation regarding seed saving and varieties to be documented for further collaboration.
- Maintaining partnerships, listening, and learning to stay updated on global and local trends among farmers regarding current issues in the Food regime, UPOV, and FTAs.
