5th TOA Partners Meeting 2015

15th – 17th September 2015 at HEPA Farmer Field School, Vietnam

The annual TOA partner meeting this year was in Vietnam during 15th – 17th September 2015 with the aim to strengthen extension of organic networks in Mekong region and Bhutan and for partners to take responsibilities beyond the Secretariat over the next 5 years. The meeting agenda on the first day consisted of following issues;

  • TOA partners update by country
  • General update TOA secretariat; team building; long term vision
  • Mekong+Bhutan core-partner group; extension to ASEAN and Asia-wide affiliation; new brochure; communication
  • Decentralization
  • Preparations for PAIES proposal (socio-economic initiatives)

 In the afternoon, partners visited forest in the nearby area as a first-hand experience of forest farmer lives and livelihood sovereignty. The second session in the next day aimed to discuss the progress of working groups and work planning in 2015-2016. The last session at HEPA was conducted to discuss in partner responsibilities and participation in further issues, which had been summarized as key follow up points;
