Internship / Fellowship

January – July 2025, Thailand

From January to June 2025, the six-month fellowship with the Centre for Social Development Studies (CSDS) at Chulalongkorn University followed a structured learning-to-output process, with Towards Organic Asia (TOA) providing facilitation and mentoring throughout. The fellowship began with joint onboarding and coordination meetings with CSDS and TOA, as well as administrative setup and early refinement of research questions guided by TOA’s program perspective. Capacity-building workshops on design thinking and data analysis were complemented by TOA-facilitated organizational visits, stakeholder connections, and access to field sites. Between February and May, TOA actively supported fieldwork by connecting the fellow with farmer networks, civil society organizations, and government actors, and by coordinating field visits across central, northern, and northeastern Thailand to ensure the research remained grounded in real-world agroecological and policy contexts. In the final phase, TOA contributed to the review and contextualization of policy briefs and blogs, to supporting translation and dissemination, and to co-organizing the public seminar.

Through this continuous involvement, TOA helped bridge research, practice, and policy, ensuring that the fellowship outputs were both analytically robust and relevant to ongoing regional food system and agroecology work.
