Chulalongkorn University Right Livelihood Summer School 2017, Open for Registration

People Planet Partnership: The Journey Towards Hidden Connections

18 July – 2 August 2017

This is the third time that we organize the Summer School so you are among the real pioneers. Together with you we aspire to make a start with a lasting process of mutual learning, design of individual projects and building a Right Livelihood community.

The Right Livelihood Award was established in 1980 by Jakob von Uexkull, a German-Swedish activist, to “honour and support those offering practical and exemplary answers to the most urgent challenges facing us today.”

In Thailand it is Sulak Sivaraksa who received the Right Livelihood Award in 1995. “Ajarn Sulak” also represents the link to Right Livelihood as a vital step in the Eightfold Path, a cornerstone of Buddhist practical philosophy. Right Livelihood moreover is a concept resonating with: sustainability, “buen vivir”,Gross National Happiness, agroecology and social entrepreneurship. The Summer School provides a platform for exploring these notions in a future perspective,by working together with our hands, hearts and minds.

The title of the Summer School this year is People Planet Partnership: The Jurney towards Hidden Connections. We intend to bring together practitioners and researchers in order to strengthen the understanding and realization of Right Livelihood in our own lives, in rural and urban dynamics, and in the awakened shaping of our worldviews.
